Duo lay on his bed staring up at the ceiling in the dark.  The clock on the bedside table next to him read twelve-thirty nine.  He sighed and put his hands behind his head.  The silence of the room was getting on his nerves.  For a second he thought he actually missed the constant clacking of Heero's laptop, but that thought was quickly dismissed.

The door suddenly swung open and the light from the hallway flooded into the room.  Duo clamped his eyes shut as they screamed from the sudden exposure.

"Man Heero!  You coulda' warned me!" he cried as his partner shut the door, again plunging the room into darkness.

"What are you doing awake?  It's past midnight."  The stone voice filled the room as he walked towards his bed.  "Can I turn the light on?"

"Yeah, go ahead."  The braided pilot put his hands over his eyes as he sat up.  Heero clicked on the light between their two beds.  The American parted his fingers to take a moment to admire the scene before him.  /Note to self, Heero is absolutely to die for in a tux./  He quickly shut his fingers.  /Shit!  There's that voice again.  Note to self, try to figure out why I seem to be attracted to Mr. Antisocial./

"Duo?"

"Huh?"  Duo looked up at Heero who looked slightly annoyed.

"Is something wrong?" the other boy asked as he took his jacket off.

"Wrong?"  Violet eyes went wide before he shook his head, realizing that he had been staring at the vision before him.  "Uh......no.  No, nothing wrong.  Why would anything be wrong?" he stammered, finishing it off with one of his famous grins.

Heero stared at him for a long second, finally turning to go to the bathroom to change.  "Baka."

******

"Chase!!!"

Chase grabbed her gun and turned to face the door of her room as it flung open and someone came flying in closing the door behind himself.

"Whoa!!  Put that down!!," the boy cried, his eyes locking onto her gun.

"Duo?!," Chase lowered weapon and put it back on her desk.  Duo smiled an innocent half smile as he realized that the blonde girl was holding the top of her undone halter top dress to cover herself.

"Sorry?," he scratched the back of his head.  Chase scowled.

"Knock next time if you don't want to get shot."  She went into her bathroom.

"You know, you could get in a lot of trouble if you pulled that on someone else," the braided boy pointed out as he sat down on the edge of her bed.

"Other people knock." was the sharp reply.  A moment later she emerged in an oversized tee-shirt.  She sat down next to Duo.  "Now, what's so important that you had to come barging into my room at quarter to one in the morning?"

"I wanted to ask you something," he paused, Chase looked at him telling him to continue, "It's about Heero."

"Heero?," the golden haired spy sounded surprised, "What about him?"

"Well, do you... ...," Duo stopped, trying to find the right way to word what he wanted to ask, "Do you think Heero has any... ...attractive qualities?"

"You mean like romantically, or sexually?"  Chase stared at her friend strangely.  Duo opened his mouth to answer then shut it and simply nodded.  Chase thought about it for a few moments, "Well, I don't think Heero has enough emotional backing to be greatly romantic, and sexually, I think Heero comes off as very sexually attractive."

"Really?"

"Yeah.  He's good looking and I think he probably comes off as the quiet, mysterious type.  But, I'm his sister so I really don't get the opportunity to look at him from that perspective."

Duo was silent for a minute, thinking about everything that Chase had said.  then she asked the question that he really didn't want to answer.

"Why?"

"No reason."  He dropped his gaze to the floor.

"That's a lie."

"Hey!  I run, I hide, but I never tell a lie!" he piped up, defending himself with his favorite phrase.

"You're lying now." she insisted locking her eyes with his.  The two sat on the bed for a moment neither changing their gaze, until Duo broke and stood up to face Chase.

"Okay!  Fine!  I admit it!  I've been fantasizing about Heero!"  Chase simply stared at him for a second, then burst out laughing.  "Oh yeah.  Just laugh.  You are just as bad as your anti-social brother!!"  he dropped back down onto the bed next to her and folded his arms across his chest.

The Japanese girl covered her mouth in an attempt to stop laughing.  She held her breath for a few moments until she had composed herself.  "Gomen." she offered biting her lip to keep the laughing away.

"Yeah, well at least you can say that.  I've never heard those words out of your brother's mouth." the American pouted.

"Why didn't you just say so in the first place?"

Duo's jaw dropped.

"Okay, I'll start over," he said sarcasm present, "Chase, I've been fantasizing about your homicidal brother naked.  What do you think I should do?"

"What do you want me to say Duo?"

"I don't know.  Talk me out of it, tell me to stay away from him, kill me, there are a number of things you could do right now."

"Why would I do any of those things?"  Chase was really caught off guard by the whole situation, and Duo's attitude towards it all confused her.

The Deathscythe pilot raised an eyebrow, " 'Cause I'm nuts?"

"You're nuts because you're in love with Heero?  Duo, being in love makes you a lot of things but I don't think nuts is one of them."

"Really?"  Chase nodded.  Duo sighed, "So what do I do?"

"I don't why you came to talk to me, I'm not really an expert on love or anything.  I was taught that love is a liability, a distraction.  But I have seen people in love and I think I've felt it, it's not something you should let pass you by."  She directed her glance downward, her feet suddenly becoming very interesting.

"You don't care about... ... you know... ..."

"The fact that you're both guys?  Not really.  I think it would be good for Heero to have some sort of emotional relationship.  This war isn't going to go on forever."

"But if you were told that it was a liability, then wouldn't it be ten times worse in Heero?"

Chase shrugged, "He has a lot more emotion than people think.  He just doesn't know how to deal with it all, he lets it eat him up inside.  I was taught to manipulate emotions, Heero was taught to ignore them.  The only emotion he's ever let himself feel is the sibling bond he has with me, but that's not enough anymore.  I can tell.  He needs someone to help him deal with these things."

"And you think that I can help?"

"I think even he's realized that you can.  Do you realize how much he's already opened up to you?  You have his trust Duo."

"He trusts me?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

"Not when he's always going around saying 'Omea o korosu'."

The girl laughed, "He does say that a lot, doesn't he?"  The boy nodded his agreement, a smile creeping across his own lips.  "Give things some time.  What's to happen will happen."

"Did you make that up yourself?"  Duo asked, his smirk reappearing.  "Deep."

"Shut up."  Duo fell over backwards from the force of the pillow that hit his face.

The next night, Duo sat on his bed reading a tattered manga, while Heero was in the small bathroom attached to their dorm room apparently getting ready to go out some where.

The American boy peered over the top of his manga in the direction of the bathroom, "Uh, Heero?, where did you say you were going?"

"To some sort of club."

Duo waited a few seconds to see if his partner would elaborate.  No such luck.  "Why?" he prodded, "And don't answer with 'because'."

"Because," Heero began as he came out into their small room.  Duo sighed at Heero's choice of first word, "Chase is meeting with someone to get information."

The long haired pilot put down the manga, and looked up at his partner.  He was completely caught off guard by his new apparel.  In place of his usual spandex and tank, the Japanese boy was now clad in jeans and a tight black tee.  Duo watched as the dark haired boy crossed the room.  He had to admit Heero wore the outfit quite well.

"Wow Heero." he commented cocking his head at the sight.

"What?" the Wing pilot looked at he other, puzzled by the comment, but not showing it in his face.

"Nothing."  Duo responded, continuing to take in the sight.

Heero stared at the boy for a moment, admiring the way the moonlight reflected off the other's long chestnut braid.  Then at those deep violet eyes that he always seemed to be drawn to.  Those eyes that seemed to be pleading with him at that moment.  He let out his breath.

"Fine you can come."

Duo's smile widened as he jumped up off the bed to get ready.

Chase reveled in the way the soap bubbles clung to her skin as she lathered herself with body wash.  The smell of strawberries and champagne flooded her senses.  She closed her eyes as the water from the shower ran down her body rinsing away the soap but leaving the sweet smell.  Chase allowed the water to continue to flow over her for a few minutes before shutting it off and wrapping a towel around her wet body.

She walked out of her small bathroom and into her room.  The sun had gone down in the time she had been in the shower and the lack of light had darkened the room.  The only bit of light came from the steady glow of her laptop on the bedside table.  She began to walk across the room towards the light on the far wall.  She had made it halfway when  she suddenly got that persistent feeling of someone's eyes on the back of her neck.  The young spy stopped, her hair dripped water down her back sending a cold chill down her spine.  Her cyan blue eyes narrowed, aware now, of what was causing her paranoia.

"I wasn't aware that sneaking into a girl's room at night when she's trying to get dressed was within your moral  standards."  Chase stared coolly into the dark.

"How did you know I was here?"  Wufei stepped out of the shadows and into the green light on her right.

"I'm trained to know when I'm not alone."  She turned to face him, holding her towel tightly around her.  The Chinese pilot stared at her seriously.

"But how did you know it was me?"

"Quatre would knock, Trowa would probably wait silently outside the door, Duo knows better than to sneak around me and I know the feel that Heero's presence gives off all too well."

"Impressive."

"Thank you.  Have I impressed you enough for you to trust me?" she asked locking the gaze between herself and Wufei.

Wufei snorted and folded his arms across his chest, "Heero says you can be trusted but don't expect me to be your best friend or anything."

"Fine.  I never asked for your friendship."  Chase began to make her way towards her closet to gather her clothes.  "Now if you don't mind, I have someplace I need to be."  She turned on the light.

"Who's Jack Kona?"

Chase looked up surprised, "What?"

"Jack Kona,"  Wufei repeated, "there's information on him on your computer screen."

"He's... ... he's an officer in OZ." she answered turning back to her clothes.

"And your interest in him being?"  The black haired boy prodded.  He sensed that there was something important about the young officer.

"I've worked with him a lot."  Chase threw her chosen outfit on her bed, turned on the bedside light as well and hastily shut her laptop.  "That's all."

"We'll see."  Wufei said never taking his eyes off of the girl.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing."

Chase scowled and moved back towards her bed and her clothes, "I really don't have time to play these games with you Wufei."

"Fine, I'll just... ..."  The Shenlong pilot began but was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Chase?"  Heero's voice came from the hall, "Are you ready to go?"

"Almost.  I've had a slight delay."  The golden haired girl glared at Wufei who snorted.

"Well hurry up."

The Chinese boy walked up to Chase, so he was standing directly in front of her, "I'm presenting you with a challenge."

"I accept.  Get out."  Her icy eyes narrowed and the boy walked to the door and opened it to leave.

Heero and Duo stared in surprise as Wufei exited Chase's room without saying a word.  They watched as he walked down the hall then looked in at Chase who was still dripping wet and clad only in a towel.  She stared back at them.

"Well?," she asked as the two boys stood in her doorway silently, "What are you looking at?  Close the door!"  Duo gave the door a small push with his foot and it swung closed, neither of the boys moving.

Chase sighed in frustration.

******

The three teenagers walked through the crowds as they went down one of the busy streets that night.  Duo had changed into black jeans with a red shirt and a black jacket over top, while Chase was now wearing black leather pants with a black backless tank top.

Duo was trailing behind, attempting to take in everything they passed.  Heero and Chase walked silently in front.  They seemed to be thinking about something.  The American sighed, and put his hands behind his head as he walked.  /Gees... ... of all the people to go to a club with./  He focused his eyes on their backs, making a mental note of the way that black tee clung to his partner's back so that you could see clearly every defined muscle.  After he had gotten his fill of Heero's back, Duo's eyes wandered over to Chase's exposed back.

There he saw a long thin scar running from her right shoulder to her left hip.  The braided boy was slightly puzzled by this.  Chase wasn't involved in any combat in this war, and you didn't get a scar like that from working on mobile suits.

Chase felt Duo's eyes on her, and turned her head slightly to the side.  "What is it that fascinates you Duo?"

The sudden question snapped the American out of his thoughts, and he put his hands back down at his sides.  "Uh, the scar actually."

Heero's head snapped up at Duo's answer.  He looked over at his sister who looked suddenly upset.  She walked over to the side of the walkway and leaned against the wall.  The two pilots followed and stood in front of her.

"Chase is something wrong?"  Duo asked, worried that he had said something to upset her.

She shook her head and looked up at him, "The scar's a trophy for bravery, let's just leave it at that."

Duo opened his mouth to ask what she meant , but caught the look that Heero was giving him that told him to drop the subject.

"So where's this club?"  Heero asked to ensure that the subject was changed.  He knew that the scar was a constant reminder of a horrible memory for Chase.  And himself.

"Right here." the golden haired girl gestured with her head to right where a large neon sign hung above the door beside them, reading, "Rich's Glitz"  Heero and Duo stared.

"Not very glitzy." the Deathscythe pilot pointed out.

"Wait till you get inside."

As she spoke a young girl about their age ran up to a young man holding a baby who was standing right behind Heero.

"Oh my God!  You're Jonathan Santaff!," she screamed.  The young man with dark brown hair and eyes turned to face her.

"Yes I am."  this guy had a deep, sexy voice.

"Oh, God....I ... ...I just love you! Do you think I could have your autograph?"

"Sure."  He looked down at the child in his arms.  "Here, hold this for a second."  The baby was thrust into Heero's arms.

The Japanese boy stared down at the the child he now held.  It appeared to be a girl, by the pink dress, and had white hair with aquamarine eyes.

Jonathan Santaff finished off his signature and reached back for the child.  "Thanks."  With that he climbed into the limo that had pulled up along the curb.

"Geez," Duo began as they watched the limo pull away, "What kind of a guy just hands a baby over to a complete stranger?"

Chase smirked, peering out from the shadows, "A dead one."

There!  Done!  No more death threats from you Usagi!!  Ah!  My back hurts now!  Okay, that's it for now.  Fun filled part huh?????  Duo came out!!!  Dun dun duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
